Cutova

Privacy policy

Short version: your images never leave your device. We have no accounts, no tracking cookies and no data about you. We only count, anonymously, how the tool is used (for example how many cutouts were made today), so we can improve it.

Your images

Background removal runs inside your browser with an AI model downloaded to your device. Images are never sent to our servers or to anyone else, and we cannot see them. The website is built so that it cannot send image data to another site (strict Content Security Policy).

Anonymous usage statistics

To know whether Cutova works well and which features are useful, the page sends a few anonymous events to our own server (same website, no third party): a page view, a finished or failed cutout, a switch to the slower engine, a download, a tool used, a ZIP export.

Each event contains only: the event type, the page path, the interface language, the engine and AI model used, the tool, the export format, a time range (for example "2–5 s") and an image size range (for example "1–4 megapixels"). Never the image, its name, a cookie, an identifier, your IP address, your full browser details or the page you came from.

Events are added to daily totals in a database (Cloudflare D1): we only store numbers such as "120 PNG downloads on 1 November", never one line per visitor. Your IP address is used only for a few seconds, in memory, to block abuse, and is never saved.

If your browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control", nothing is sent at all.

What our hosting provider sees

Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) processes technical data needed to deliver pages and files, such as IP address and browser type, and may keep short-term security logs. We do not use these data for advertising or profiling.

Retention of hosting logs: set by Cloudflare under its own privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/. No third-party analytics tool is used.

Cookies

Cutova sets no advertising or tracking cookies. No consent banner is needed for this reason.

Your rights and contact

You can ask any question about your data or exercise your rights (access, erasure, objection) by writing to: [email protected]. You can also contact your data protection authority (in France: the CNIL).

Data controller: Amir Khelifi ([email protected])
