A free remove.bg alternative that keeps your photos on your device
remove.bg made automatic background removal popular. Cutova does the same job with a different approach: the AI runs inside your browser instead of on a server.
That one change has practical consequences: you download at full resolution for free, you do not need an account, and your photos are never uploaded.

remove.bg's standalone site is closing
remove.bg has announced that its standalone website will stop being available on December 1, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. CET. If you relied on it for quick cutouts, Cutova covers the same everyday job, for free and without sending your photos anywhere.
When Cutova is the better choice
Choose Cutova when privacy matters (ID photos, client work, unreleased products), when you need many full-size images without paying per image, or when you simply do not want to create an account.
What to expect
Because the model runs on your device, speed depends on your hardware. A computer with a recent graphics card handles a photo in a few seconds; an older laptop or a phone takes longer. The first image also downloads the model once.
Quality is very good on people, hair and pets. Transparent glass, handwriting and crowded scenes are harder for any automatic tool, Cutova included.
Switching takes ten seconds
There is nothing to install and nothing to migrate. Open Cutova, drop the same photo you would have sent to remove.bg, and download the result.
